Beavers compete at Region VI XC Championships

EL DORADO, Kan.- On a beautiful Friday afternoon, the Beavers were ready and prepared for the opportunity to race at the Region VI KJCCC Cross Country Championships.

As he's proven during the 2020 season, Zach McPhee is a talented and meticulous runner, even more so evidenced by an 11th-place finish. The freshman finished the eight-kilometer race (roughly five miles) with a time of 25:45.09. Behind McPhee was sophomore Uwimana Rukundo, who finished the race with a time of 27:13.90. Rukundo placed 24th-overall. The last of the Beavers men's racers was Delmar Campbell, as the freshman finished 88th with a time of 43:19.03.

On the women's side, the Beavers entered only two racers, Maya Miller-Herron and Jodi Demidio. Miller-Herron clocked in at 26:50.31, good for 68th place. Demidio completed the five-kilometer race in a time of 33:50.52, placing her 73rd.

Next for Beavers cross country is a trip to Fort Dodge, Iowa where Pratt will compete at both the NJCAA Cross Country and Half-Marathon Championships. The Cross Country Championships are scheduled to begin at 10:00 am CT on Saturday, November 14, while the Half-Marathon Championships will take place three days later on Tuesday, November 17 with an identical start time.
