IOLA, Kan.- The Red Devil Invite marked the Beavers second opportunity to compete during the 2020 season, and once again, Zachary McPhee took advantage of the platform.

Finishing fourth overall in the eight kilometer race (4.97 miles), McPhee finished with a time of 25:47, breaking Pratt Community College's previous record of 26:06. Head cross country coach Joel Pearson was ecstatic with the effort of his pupil. 

"We're really proud of Zach, and that he's been able to make such an impact so early on," said Pearson. "We expect him to continue to improve and to do big things."

Pratt's Diondray Harris clocked in at 30:04 to finish in 44th place, while Delmar Campbell (64th) and Loubsky Francois (65th) completed the race neck-and-neck with times of 35:54 and 36:51, respectively. 

The Beavers next action takes place on Friday, as cross country travels to Canyon, Texas to compete at the Western Texas Buffalo Stampede. The start time is scheduled for 11:00 am CT.
