Beavers Place 7 at Falcon Open
The Beaver Wrestling Team kicked off their season at the Friends Open in Park City, Kansas at Park City Arena on November 1st.
The Beavers had 18 Individuals competing, with 7 Top Performances & Placements.
Top Performances included Marcel Gonzalez at Heavyweight, Zane Donley at 125lbs., Gabriel Sherrell also at 125 lbs., Matthew Long at 133lbs., Blake Winsor at 165lbs., and Zachary Wessley also at 165lbs. All took 4th place after having to forfeit their respective 3rd/4th place match-ups due to reaching the NCAA 6 Match Limit Rule which only allows a wrestler to compete in 6 Matches a day.
Preston Hagel captured the Falcon Open 197lb. Title with a 1:49 pin in the final over Kevin Lund of Baker University. Hagel collected 3 Bonus Point Victories on his way to the Semifinal. In the Semifinal, Hagel collected a decision win over David Sample of Cowley College.
The Beavers will continue their season on November 15th where they will compete at the Grand View Open hosted by Grand View University in Grimes, Iowa at the Ignit Sports & Fitness Center.
