Pratt, Kan. - The No. nine ranked Pratt Community College wrestling team will be back in action for the Battle of Highway 281 on Thursday, Jan. 23 in Great Bend, Kan taking on the Cougars of Barton Community College. The Beavers are up 1-0 in the Battle of Highway 281 and are up 7-3 overall in head-to-head duals against the Cougars.
The Cougars are currently 2-12 overall and 0-2 in conference duals. The only two dual wins came against Williams Woods University and Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. Last Thursday, Jan. 16 Barton opened their conference dual schedule by hosting No. 14 ranked Cowley College and Neosho County Community College.
In the dual against Cowley, the Cougars were defeated 42-15 with Skyler McMullen at 125-pounds, Edgar Duarte Quiroz at 184 pounds, and Nathan Agudzi-Addo at 285 pounds scoring points for Barton. Against Neosho County, the Cougars lost 30-22 with Jamal Garrett (125-pounds), Skyler McMullen (141-pounds), Jarret Mader (149-pounds), and Nathan Agudzi-Addo (285-pounds) all scoring points for Barton.
Up next for the Beavers will be a trip to Chanute, Kan. on January 29 for a dual against Neosho County Community College and the No. five ranked Fort Hays Tech Northwest.
