Ben Vozzola enters his first season as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Pratt Community College. He is considered as one of the rising young coaches in the NJCAA known for his work ethic and passion. He brings high energy, a strong background in player development, recruiting connections, and a relentless commitment to student-athlete growth and team success.
He previously coached at Labette Community College this past season in Parsons, KS. Before that he coached professionally in Mexico. During the 2023-24 season coached at Motlow State in Tennessee. During that time, he developed and assisted four All-Conference athletes, one of whom signed to the NCAA DI level and two at the D2 level.
Prior to coaching Ben Vozzola was a former 4-star recruit 92 rating coming out of High school. Vozzola, who earned team MVP accolades during his senior and junior seasons, was named a Pangos All-American High School Top-20 player and voted a second team selection on the prestigious Long Beach Press-Telegram "Best of the West" team...ESPN.com ranked Vozzola the 40th best shooting guard in the country during his senior campaign in 2010 as well as a McDonald's All-American Nominee coming out of Centennial in Las Vegas, NV where is originally from.
He started he collegiate career at The University of San Diego a member of WCC, named to the WCC Pre-Season All-Freshman Team and top Mid-Major freshman players to watch according to Fran Fraschilla of (ESPN.com)
He ended up leaving in December of 2011 and transferred to Cowley County Community College as a member of the KJCCC Playing under Tommy DeSalme and Donnie Jackson. Led that 2012 Cowley team to a 21-11 record. Gained several honors including being named one of the Top 5 point-guards at the prestigious Jerry Mullens All-American Top 100 Junior College Camp in July (2012) in St. Louis, Mo. After Graduating Cowley, he played at CSUN for his junior year under Head Coach Reggie Theus and helped guide them to the Big West Championship game.
For his senior campaign he starred at St. Catharine in Kentucky a member of the Mid-South Conference earning All-Conference Honors.
After college Vozzola signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA, playing in the 2015 NBA Summer League in Orlando, FL & Las Vegas. In his first start on 7/10/2015 against the Charlotte Hornets Vozzola had 11 points and 10 rebounds shooting 50% from 3.
After the Nets, Vozzola played 9 years professionally including stints in the PBL, NBA G-League with the Austin Spurs, Papua New Guinea, Canada, Mexico, Serbia, and the Rep. of Georgia.
Vozzola holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Leadership from St. Catharine.
