Beavers Upset BroncBusters at Home - Cameron Cox
[Pratt, KS-Jan 27th, 2026] - Men's Basketball was at home against Garden City for a tough conference game. The Beavers were searching for their third conference win. The Beavers would play an ultra competitive game on Monday night but pulled away at the end for the 88-79 win.
Game Recap:
Pratt (6-13), (3-11) started off the struggling as Garden City (12-8), (7-7) jumped out to a early 7-2 lead. Pratt would pick up the pace however and got the offense moving. Kisean Robinson slammed home a dunk to give the Beavers momentum tying the game 10-10 and they never looked back. A Sedyina Faye layup gave the Beavers a 12-10 lead. After taking the lead 4 minutes into the game the Beavers would never trail again.
The following four minutes saw Pratt dominate the game jumping out to a 27-19 lead. Galvin Luketa came off of the bench with a hot hand from deep converting on three deep balls as the Beavers went up 38-27. Garden City was trying to trade shots with Beavers but struggled to get the game close. The Beavers had controled the first half and would continue into half with the Beavers leading 49-42.
The second half Garden City and Pratt both came out firing from deep trading shots back and forth. The first five minutes of the second half were similar to the first half as the Beavers were able to convert on Garden City turnovers. The Beavers held a 10 point lead at the time of the second media timeout of the half. The next 5 minutes saw the Beavers run away with the game leading by as much as 16. This Beaver lead held for the remiander of the game as the Beavers lead by 15 until the final 2 minutes. Garden City made 2 late threes to make the score a bit closer as the Beavers took down the BroncBusters 88-79.
The Beavers shot an efficient 31-59 (52.5%) from the field. The Beavers were also solid from beyond the arc shooting 8-18 (44.4%) from three. Garden City shot slightly worse splits going 29-72 (40.3%) from the field and 8-27 (29.6%) from deep. Seydina Faye led the Beavers in scoring and was complemented by Scottie Guillory, Kisean Robinson and Galvin Luketa as the four of them combined for 70 of the Beavers 88 points.
