Earlier this evening, December 3, the Pratt Community College Beavers Men's Basketball team (3-6, 0-4) played host to the Seward County Community College Saints (7-3, 2-2). In heartbreaking fashion, the Beavers fell 79-81
During the first half, the Beavers outscored the Saints by 6, 39-33. Seydina Faye led the Beavers in scoring with 10 points. Muna Godswill added 9 points and secured a team-leading 5 rebounds. The team shot well from the free throw line (14-17) during the first half, which helped them overcome some shooting woes from behind the three-point line (3-13).
In the Second half, Pratt was outscored 40-48. This was despite a great jump in three-point shooting. The team was able to make 44% of its shots from distance (4-9). The team also converted well from the field, shooting over 63% in the second half (14-22). It was the free throw shooting, which buoyed them in the first half that let them down. They made only 8 of the 15 attempts (53%) they had in the second half.
This will be a tough loss for the Beavers who led by 16 points at one point. They did have standout performances from Seydina Faye (21 points, 7-9 from the field), Muna Godswil (10 points, 7 rebounds), and standout sixth-man, Justin Robinson (15 points, 4 assists, 5-6 from the field.
