Hayden McBride Hired As Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Pratt Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Hayden McBride as the next assistant men’s basketball coach. McBride will be assisting Coach Kenny Eddy in recruiting, player development, player studies, advancement of players to four-year universities and all other team needs.

Coach McBride spent one season as the assistant coach for Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas for the 2023-2024 season. McBride assisted Coach Bill Foy in recruiting, scouting, and he also took over skill development and strength and conditioning responsibilities for the team.

“I am extremely excited to join Coach Eddy’s staff here at Pratt, he has been a great friend and mentor of mine for years now. I have been blessed to work for a few legendary coaches early in my career, and I truly believe they prepared me to be able to step into this position and hit the ground running,” said Coach McBride. “I am looking forward to seeing the product we build this summer come to life over the course of next season! I am thankful for Coach Eddy, AD Larry Johnston, and our president Dr. Calvert for giving me this opportunity. Go Beavers!”

Prior to PJC, Coach McBride spent one season at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in Huntsville, Texas. McBride served as Graduate Assistant/Assistant Director of Basketball Operations during the 2022-2023 season under Coach Jason Hooten. He was responsible for all travel operations, assisting with scouting upcoming opponents, assisting with skill development, and assisting with alumni/fan relations.

“We are thrilled to bring Hayden onto staff for this upcoming season. He brings in a wealth of experience at various levels of college basketball to go with his infectious energy and enthusiasm,” said head men’s basketball coach Kenny Eddy.

Prior to Sam Houston State, McBride started his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Texas Wesleyan University with their men’s basketball program under Coach Brennen Shingleton. McBride assisted with skill development, scouting opponents, oversaw the JV program, and started their first strength and conditioning program. Five members of this team went on to play professional basketball overseas.

McBride earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from Oklahoma State University in 2019. He earned his Master of Science in Sports Administration and Strength and Conditioning from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2021.
